REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2009-124

AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NOMENCLATURE OF ITEM
2 AND 3 OF THE APPROVED PLANTILLA POSITIONS OF THE
CITY ENGINEER'S OFFICE FROM ASSISTANT CITY
ENGINEER TO CITY GOVERNMENT ASSISTANT
DEPARTl\flENT HEAD II IN CONFORMITY WITH THE INDEX
OF OCCVPATIONAL SERVICES, POSITION TITLES AND
SALARY GRADES FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS

WHEREAS, last February 5, 2009 a letter from Hon. Jerry P. Trefias, City Mayor
of Iloilo sent a letter to the Honorable Member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod
requesting for the change in nomenclature of Assistant City Engineer to City Government
Assistant Department Head II;

WHEREAS, the said request was included as Item f.44 during the February 18,
2009 regular session;

WHEREAS, the said request was referred to the Committee on Good Government
and Public Accountability and received by my office last February 20, 2009;

WHEREAS, Section 470 of RA 7160 identify the local appointive officials

occupying Department Head positions and define their function/duties;

WHEREAS, the Revised Index of Occupational Services, Position Titles and

Salary Grade for Local Government Units as Local Executive from the Civil Service
Commission provide the positions not specifically mentioned in the Local Government
Code.

NOW, THERFORE, be it ordained that:

Section 1. -The Nomenclature of Item 2 and 3 of the approved Plantilla Positions

of the City Engineers Office be changed from Assistant City Engineer to City
Government Assistant Department Head II in conformity with the Revised Index of
Occupational Services, Position Titles and Salary Grade for Local Government Units.

Section 2. - This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
