Anillustrationofabicycle,withallpartslabeled.(Ifpossiblehavea
realbicyclestandinginfrontofthegroup)
Methodology
1. Putuptheillustrationofthebicycleinfrontofthebiggroup.
2. Asktheparticipantswhichpartisthemostimportant(expectdifferent
responsesfromtheparticipants).
3. Askthemtoexplainwhytheyfeelthattheparttheymentionedisthe
mostimportant.Acceptallresponsesastherearenorightorwrong
answersinthisexercise.
4. Wheneverybodyhashadhis/hertimetospeak,askifthebicyclewould
workwithanyofitspartsmissing.
5. Nowaskthemtothinkthebicyclepartsasindividualsinagroup.
6. Discusstheimportanceofindividualparticipationinsuccessful
teamwork.
7. Inthisentireexercise,acceptallanswersgivenbytheparticipants.This
willencouragethemtoparticipateinthediscussion.Makesurethat
everybodyhadachancetospeak.
Insteadofabicycle,thisexercisecanalsobedonewithpartsofa
sprayingmachineortorchlight.Starttheexercisebyasking
participantstomentionallpartsofasprayingmachineortorchlight
anddrawitinfrontofthem.

2. Whichpartsareveryimportantandwhicharelessimportant?
3. Ifanypartismissing,whathappens?

ofthegroup,justlikethepartsinthedrawing.
