COMPARATIVE STUDY- GLOBAL COMPANY V/S LOCAL COMPANY

This project provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of

a global company and its journey from its establishment until today in its first part.

It has been designed to measure students early understanding of the establishment,

functioning and rules and regulations of a company incorporated under The Companies
Act, 1956 and to foster discussion about variables.

The second part of the project is a presentation of the research conducted by students
on two local firms. The variable under study was the profits earned by those two firms.
The constants were their location and products or services provided by them.

A comparison between the global company and a local firm constitutes the final part of
the project.

The project addresses the following KUDs (Know, Understand and Do):

Know:

Provisions of The Companies Act,1956 regarding incorporation , registered office,

directors, etc
The products/services of the company
The reasons behind the success or failure of the local firms under study

Understand:

The journey of the company from its incorporation until today

The success and failures faced by the company
The decisions that went right and that went wrong for the company
The difference between a registered company and a firm.

Do:

Prepare a PowerPoint Presentation depicting their understanding and finding of

their research
Interview the owners/employees of local firms
Compare the local firms
Compare Global company and local firm
