Executive Summary:

We as a group of five students in our communication class, were challenged to

come up with a group name, and a solution to a problem. The team name that we
chose was The Mighty Ducks, we chose that name because it was so random that
we all liked it. The question that we posed for the problem we were going to solve
was, How can we as a group of five students show meaningful and effective
support to our troops?

Through our recent meetings over Skype, we have come up with a plan on how to
work out the problem. We came up with solutions on how get students to be more
proactive with veterans. To accomplish our purpose, we needed to come up with a
plan on how we can help students appreciate veterans, by doing different tasks.
We asked ourselves how this is going to help students learn to respect veterans and
learn to honor them. We chose the nominal group process, which is the process of
encouraging contributions from everyone. We came up with many different
options and solutions as to how us as students and the general public can best
support our troops not using too much money or time. Our final solution was the
best all around for college students or students within a budget.

The solution we decided on was to visit veteran community centers or hospitals

and do community projects to support those affected by deployments. The reason
we decided on this as the best solution was because it is one that any student can
do and does not require a lot of time or money.
