Daylight systems for well-being and efficiency
Without sunlight theres no life, and without light theres no well-being. Daylight can
be optimally implemented with innovative daylight systems from Siteco. These make
use of the physical laws of reflection, absorption and refraction to illuminate rooms
perfectly and also to avoid excessive warmth. Energy consumption for artificial lighting
and air conditioning is reduced and room comfort increases.

create ergonomic illumination at workstations manual command inputs.

Robust and moveable

The prismatic plates are rigidly
fixed to a frame construction via
shafts. The shafts have mechanical
and electronic tracking, controlled
by a microprocessor.

Always at the right angle

The microprocessor controls the
lamellae automatically according to
the position of the sun. Thus the suns
rays always impact at a 90 degree
angle on the rear of the prismatic
plates and are then reflected. Light
entering from other directions
brightens the complete room depth.

On facades and roofs

Moveable prismatic plates can be
installed vertically to facades or
horizontally upon glazed courtyards
or glass roofs. They consist of highly
transparent acrylic glass (PMMA), are
uncoated and weather-resistant.

The hospital rooms of the six-storey bed wing
in the casualty hospital in Linz have windows
over the complete room height in a south-

solar protection has been installed in the
upper area of the balconies in front of the
rooms. In summer, the three superimposed
prismatic lamellae protect the complete
glazed facade. In winter the radiation of the
low sun enters below the prismatic lamellae
into the depths of the patients rooms. On
cloudy days the prismatic plates are rotated
to a horizontal position, and in this way the
guidance function of the prisms can be
specifically used for reflection of light into
the interior.

are cut to suit and installed in insulated window panes, They can however also be used for light control, and
rooflights and glazed roofs. This guarantees protection both functions can be combined with ease.

Prisms with various angles

The basis of stationary prism
systems are prismatic plates of 8N
acrylic glass (injection-moulded).
These are smooth on one side and
feature a prismatic structure on
the other. Various prism angles are
available.

Use as solar protection

The flat plate side is oriented to the
outside: sunlight entering at right
angles is thrown back by the oblique
prism edges. The aluminium layer
on one prism edge also reflects light
rays from flatter angles.

Use for light control

Here the refraction of the light on
two non-parallel surfaces (prisms)
is used to guide the light into the
corners of the room. Glare is avoided
with this method.

daylight has become the defining element
of the space that was formerly illuminated
only with artificial light. Depending on the
intensity of daylight, infinitely variable
switchable sources of light create optimal
