Im interested in utilizing my guidance and communication skills into the FLO facilitator position
for the 2017-2018 academic year. I have recently become a Resident Advisor for Craig Student
Living this spring semester. As being a first generation college student, balancing academics,
on-campus organizations, and work has been challenging but without a doubt achievable. My
ability to encompass all of these on a daily basis has enhanced my time management skills as
well as communications skills.

Since the start of spring semester, I have worked as a Resident Advisor ensuring a positive
environment and creating monthly activities for my residents. Through my monthly events, I
present a welcoming atmosphere that allows my residents to fully express themselves in a fun
and interactive way. In these events, I get to know not only my residents but the residents from
other buildings by providing an open ear to help them achieve their needs to their fullest ability
whether it is academics or social.

Aside from working as a Resident Advisor, I am involved with Prime Time Productions. As a
Street Team Volunteer, our goal is to provide students with an array of weekly events in the
UHUB. In order for this to happen, there must be strong communication skills among everyone.
It is fundamental that communication is present in any instance. I have met people from various
backgrounds and organizations from participating with Prime Time Productions. I will utilize
these resources for my own academic and personal growth. I believe having a foundation of
useful resources can assist me with achieving my goals in life.

A position as a FLO facilitator would be a wonderful opportunity for me to gain experience and
impact the lives of others. The experience of being a facilitator would impact my life positively
and will be the highlight of my college experience. Please contact me if I may provide you with
