Character Journal

For this assignment, you will create 3 journal entries from the perspective of the main character
in your narrative story. The following items must be included at some point in the three journal
entries. Every entry does not have to have all of the items, but each item must appear at least
once within the three journal entries. Each entry should be at least 1 written page.

Items to include:
Write about events or experiences that have shaped your main character. These
events/experiences will not appear in your narrative story. Think of these experiences as
background information in order to understand your character better.
Write at least one conversation in dialogue (make sure you format it correctly). This
conversation needs to take place between at least 2 characters.
Although the three journal entries can discuss some of the same events, you need to at
least include new details in each one.
Use detail words to describe at least two experiences. Remember that adjectives and
adverbs can help add details to your journal entries.
