A business cover letter is a writing which main purpose is to introduce oneself to the
organization and mostly draw attention to the resume. It should be brief and to the point by
summing up the resume and is a polite request for the job. A resume is a letter requesting for
employment. It contains a persons skills, background and experiences. It should be well detailed
with the required information of the applicant both personal and professional. Extended
definitions refer to a paragraph or two that tries to explain a complex term or phrase. They are
mostly included in the report where it is necessary to explain in order to avoid misinterpretation
of some words. A group work plan is an outline of set goals that are required in order to prepare a
project. It enables one to break down processes into workable and achievable tasks. A memo is a
short document that is used for communication in the office. It is used to convey information
This assignment has enabled me to understand the need to be polite and detailed when
writing an application for a job. It has also made me appreciate the essence of proper grammar in
writing documents that convey information to many people. A work plan has guided me in
planning for my projects and developing a work schedule in order to ensure all the work is
covered. The concepts learnt in this class will help when am trying to secure a job. It will be
easier for me to write a good application letter when applying for new employment posts
The easiest part of this class was learning how to write the memoranda and the short
