THE HEESOM-QUEST BASE RULESET

Turns
Core principal: Each player gets one action and one movement.
Two types of turn: Passive turn and Combat turn.
If the player initiates combat it is counted as an action, however if a mob initiates
combat it is not. The players turn will be extended if combat is initiated, with the
combat turn happening immediately.
During combat, the player will get an attack action and an evasion/block/counter
(EBC) action.

Rolls
All rolls are done on a D20 unless stated otherwise.
A Critical Failure and a Critical Success are the lowest and highest possible natural
rolls on the die.
Ranges: Low=2-5, Low= 6-10, Med=11-15, High= 16-19.
Magic % Effectiveness is rolled on a D100, with the outcome of the roll being the %
effectiveness.

Combat-Physical
The combatant with the highest speed stat moves first.
The use and effectiveness of wielding a heavy weapon is governed by the strength
stat, whereas lighter weapons are governed by the agility stat. Bows are generally
agility and Crossbows are neutral.
Evasion is based on Agility and requires a high range roll. Blocking is based on
Strength and requires a high range roll for complete damage reduction, medium rolls
will give a 25% penalty to damage reduction and low rolls a 50% reduction with
critical failures resulting in a 100% damage reduction penalty; the amount of damage
blocked is dependent on the shields damage reduction %.

Combat-Magic
Resistances/Weaknesses: Target is weak to spell type= X2 damage, Target is neutral to
spell type=X1 damage, Target is resistant to spell type=X0.5 damage.
DM Gauges situation and determines whether the spell is effective or not.
