WELCOME
TO ARTS & COMMUNICATION CAREER PATHWAY!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Carina Noveloso and I am looking forward to having your child in my Arts and Communitcations
Core Pathway class this year. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your child about arts and communica-
tion and have them bring home projects to share with you and your family. Id like to start off the year by telling
you a little bit about myself.

This is my first full year teaching at Mililani High School. I had the great opportunity to start teaching this class
halfway through last school year. I am a Mililani High School alumni and graduate of the Arts and Communica-
tion Career Pathway (ACCP) in both the graphics and digital media (video production) subject areas. I was part
of the ACCP program at Mililani High for four years and now I am beyond thrilled to be back here teaching the
classes that made my high school career amazing. After high school, the ACCP program inspired me to go on
to study Communication at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, work at a nationwide magazine, and do freelance
public relations work prior to starting my career in education.

In my class, we will explore both graphic design and digital media (video production). Some of the skills
and projects we will cover include how to use programs such as Adobe Illustrator to complete hands-
on projects including vinyl graphics sticker designs, heat transfer tshirt designs, and print layout designs.
We will also use iPhoto and iMovie to learn about video production and create original videos in class.

Having grown up in a family of educators, I understand how important your childs education is and I hope to
provide a source of support and inspiration this year. I like to keep a continuous open line of communication
with parents throughout the year. I hope to meet you at our Mililani High School open house on Wednesday
August 17, 2016 at 6:00p.m. You can also reach me by telephone (808) 307-4371 during school hours from
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or by email (Carina_noveloso@notes.k12.hi.us) any time. Grades will be shared regularly
through the statewide site Infinite Campus. Finally, I plan to send home class newsletters at the start of each
quarter to let you know what to expect for each quarter. A parents role is essential in the learning process and
I am looking forward to working with you and your child.

Thank you for your time and lets have a great year together!

Warm Regards,

Miss Carina Noveloso
