3.1 Division of Work

1) Factory: Follows flow production method. Initially, workers who are experts in clothing
material buy the clothes from wholesale markets in huge quantities. Then the clothes are
delivered to the master tailors in the factory, who cut the fabric. From them, they are sent
to the tailors for stitching and finally to the finishing team who adds the final touches.

2) Showroom: Consists of a group of workers responsible for stock entry, another group as
the bar-coding team and lastly the salesperson.

3.3 Departmentalization

The nature of departmentalization followed in StyleSell is:

Functional Departmentalization: Grouping activities by functions performed. Activities can be

grouped according to function (work being done) to pursue economies of scale by placing
employees with shared skills and knowledge into departments, for example, master tailors and
tailors.

3.4 Coordination

Head designer coordinates and organizes the production of clothing in the factory. Also, master
tailor coordinates the stitching and gives expert opinion to the tailors.
