Name: Marissa Jock

Focus:Creative Arts Expression
Title of Lesson:My Thunderstorm
Part 1: Evaluation
Objective 1: The children will develop skills of curiosity by participating in the thunderstorm creation
activity.
X Met
o Not Met

Outcome:
The children had a lot of curiosity within this activity. They had many questions as we went along.

Follow-Up:
To ensure that my goal is met to the fullest I would create another lesson plans that has the
children developing skills of curiosity.

Objective 2:The children will enhance in communication by sharing what materials that are given.
X Met
o Not Met

Outcome:
The children struggled a little bit with the sharing until I told them that they will get their turn.

Follow-Up:
I will create another activity/lesson that has the children sharing their materials that are given to
them.

Objective 3:The children will enhance flexibility by transitioning from free play to the activity.
X Met
o Not Met

Outcome:
The children transitioned well from doing table activities to sitting down and doing an activity
with me.
Follow-Up:
To ensure that this goal is met, I would do another activity right after they are done playing to
ensure that they will transition well.

Part 2: Self-Evaluation / Reflection

Complete each question following the lesson activity implementation:

1. Overall, how would you rate the success of your lesson activity?
_____Fair ___X___Good _____Excellent

2. What specific parts of the activity were most successful? Provide 3 examples to support your
response.

One aspect that was most successful was keeping the children engaged. Many of the children were
excited to be doing this activity. We talked about thunderstorms that they have heard, how bright
lightening is and the sound that thunder makes.

3. Describe any difficulties or challenges you encountered.

Were you adequately planned and prepared?

One difficulty that I faced was only having one glue stick for the children to share. I was not
planned for this to happen since we had an entire basket yesterday full of glue sticks.

4. How would you address the difficulties and/or challenges if it happened again?

I would double check to make sure we have enough glue sticks the day before my lesson and if I knew
many of them were going to run out I will be sure to bring some with me.

5. Additional thoughts, insights, reflections:

I enjoy being able to share the excitement with the children as we do activities together.
