To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to recommend Jeremiah Palicka for employment as a new graduate registered nurse
in your organization. Mr. Palicka successfully completed N470 Acute and Chronic Illness
Management II at the University of Arizona College of Nursing Fall 2017. This is a 10- credit
course with a clinical practicum. This course integrates theoretical and clinical content through
use of the nursing process in the care of acutely ill patients. Emphasis is placed on the
assessment, diagnosis, and management of human responses to complex health problems.

I served as Mr. Palickas didactic and clinical instructor while he was enrolled in the N470 at
University of Arizona. He completed his clinical practicum in the Medical Surgical unit and
Critical Care Units at St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Both his academic and clinical
performance was excellent. He demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in the application
of pathophysiology and medical surgical concepts into the care of critically ill patients. He also
was able to apply and integrate theory into practice enhancing both his confidence and comfort
in providing care.

Mr. Palicka is a focused, intelligent, and driven student. He has many strengths that include the
ability to critically analyze problems, and present a possible solution. He has a warm,
compassionate personality and gets along well with patients, families and his peers. He eagerly
accepts challenging situations and works diligently to make the most of every learning
opportunity. He compassionately advocates on behalf of patients and their families. Mr.
Palickas additional strengths are his excellent written and verbal communication skills. He was
able to participate in discussions regarding the plan of care for his patient with the physicians and
ancillary support services to ensure positive outcomes.

I highly recommend Mr. Palicka for employment as a nurse in his area of interest as I believe he
will make significant contributions to the nursing profession. He is an intelligent, accountable
student who is willing to work hard to meet his goals. I believe he will one day be a leader in
nursing. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Olivarez, MSN, RN-C
