Lesson Content Description:
Students will be partnered with one to two students. They will use
their science animal book to answer a variety of questions. They
will need to use prior knowledge, researching and academic
language to complete the activity.
Instructional Strategies/Method of Delivery:
-T. will explain that students will be looking for information on an animal.
-T. will review the places where students can find information on their animal.
-T. will review that students will need to agree on an animal and help their partners.
-Students will be given time to complete the assignment and look for their research.
Common Core Standard:
Students know different plants and animals inhabit different kinds of environments and have
external features that help them thrive in different kinds of places.
ELD Standard:

Common Core Cooperative Lesson Objective:
Students will be able to identify a specific animal from the Savannah and characteristics about
that animal and what is need for its survival.
Assessment:
Formative: T. will walk around listening to students discussions.
Summative: T. will read students responses to ensure they understood the concept and had
correct facts.
Lesson/Assessment Modifications: ELL: Special Needs
EL & Speech- Each student will be paired with a high achieving student to foster their
academic understanding.
Technology: Describe the types of technology you will be utilizing in your lesson to create
and enhance instruction
T. will use the document projector to projector the assignment and explain how it will
be completed.
