My Name is Daniel Stein and I am writing to you today regarding obtaining an internship in an editorial
journalism internship position at your company.

I am currently an Electronic Journalism Arts Major at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville Vermont. I am a
Junior member of the colleges news station News7. I also work for the associated website called NewsLinc.

At News7 we have the unique opportunity to be the only hyper local news station serving an area of Vermont
called the Northeast Kingdom. We provide daily news twice a day during the academic year. We reach
approximately 9,000 households in a 14 town area.

Through these experiences, I have had the opportunity to hold a variety of positions that have prepared me for
the rigors of reporting daily news and anchoring live daily news.

As a reporter I have gained experience in finding stories through my own research and coming up with a
coverage plan that considers visual and factual elements. In addition, because I am dealing directly with the
public, I have gained valuable interpersonal skills as well as learning to work in a team.

My passion as well as mainstream journalism also lies in sports journalism. I have been an athlete my whole life
and have grown up watching sports both live and on television. I have fostered this passion through my
experiences as well. I have worked with the Lakewood Blueclaws minor league baseball team, Brookdale
Community College basketball, and the Lyndon State College Athletic Department.

I feel I make a strong candidate for this position due to my knowledge and skills acquired through the variety of
experiences I have had.
