Carl Jung was the first to use the term unconscious as synonym for collective
unconscious. Carl Jung was mentored by Sigmund Freud, the founder of
Psychoanalysis. Jung believed in the idea of a collective unconscious, meaning that there are structures of the human mind in which we collective share unconsciously. Jung was never completely vocal about this idea due to how it revolved around a transcendental concept. It wasnt until later in his career in which he started to voice this idea. Jung and other fellow psychologists beliefs gave birth to Transpersonalism.
