Abstract During the initial phase of Cross Car Beam CCB design developmentthe multiple design
parameters are selected as the design variables A parameterization model is built in SFE environment
based on the selected variables A proper DOE orthogonal matrix table is determined to output sample
models Kriging method is used to create response approximate surface of the sample results It is found
that tube radius and thickness are the most important variables according to ANOVA analysiswhich
could provide guideline for further CCB design Meanwhilethe optimization algorithm in Isight is used to
find optimum design in design space The optimum design is validated in virtual simulations and the
optimum actual product structure is obtained
