3M Cold Shrink Quick Insulator QI Series

 About the QI Series
The QI Series is an EPDM rubber insulator designed for quick, highly reliable
insulation and protection for low voltage cable connections 1000 volts or less.
The QI Series contains a factory installed ring of mastic inside each end of the
tube that provides range taking capability and provides added protection when
cable jacket imperfections exist.
The QI series provides an alternative to the 3M 8420 Series Cold Shrink
Insulators for customers that want the benefit of the mastic without the need for
the 3 core design of the 3M Cold Shrink Connector Insulator QSLV-M.
The QI Series is targeted at the construction, maintenance and utility markets.

PLEASE NOTE:
The QI series is not intended to be a direct replacement for 8420 or QSLV-M series
products. Together the three product offerings can meet the majority of customer applications.

 Value Proposition
The 3M Cold Shrink Quick Insulator QI Series provides added value for
contractors, facility owners and utilities involved with low voltage splicing in the
construction, maintenance and utility markets, who need a way to insulate a
splice without the need for special tools and/or heat.

3M cold shrink is field proven for nearly 40 years and offers a superior design
along with the ability to accept a greater range of cable with only 3 parts due
to the mastic on each end of the QI insulator. This may reduce the amount of
inventory needed for most applications. The mastic also provides added
protection by filling in cable jacket imperfections.
