TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Greenfi eld Elementary School, Fort Worth, Texas Aug 2016-April 2017
Student Teacher [Kindergarten, All subjects & Third Grade, ELAR and Social Studies]
I assisted my cooperating teacher with classroom management, as well as helped plan lessons. I also helped
with planning and implementing small group instruction. I made goals for my students learning based on their
DRA scores. I participated in PLCs and gave my opinion when necessary. I helped team plan as well. I led the
classroom in instruction from day one, and added more subjects as I taught to lead up to full day instruction. I
attended trainings such as using Rigor and Relevance Rubrics and worked to plan my instruction so that it falls
under the developed and well developed category. Assumed all duties of a teacher with the leadership of a
mentor teacher. I also helped with planning and implementing small group instruction. I made goals for my
students learning based on their DRA results. I assisted in planning for literacy groups using benchmark data. I
created lessons that focused on specifi c Skills from the benchmark and taught groups of three to four
students. Engaged in meetings with parents, teachers, principal, vice principal, and other peers around the
school.
Tutor 2017
During my student teaching I had the opportunity to tutor a family friends son with his reading. He was a
bilingual student and I worked on really helping him to read in English. When I started working with him he
was in third grade and now he is in fourth grade. I worked with him on the blending of his words or letters
when reading so that he was able to look at English words and read them clearly. I planned mini lessons that
helped focus on some of the errors that he was making when transferring from his native language of Spanish
to English.

with unhappy customers.
