Early Life
President Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890, in Denison, Texas,
President Eisenhower was the third of his seven brothers.
His parents had moved from Abilene, Kansas, to Denison, Texas, before he was born.
Schools that he went to- United States War College, United States Military Academy,
Abilene High School, United States Army Command and General Staff College.
His mother was a devout Mennonite and passifict.
In 1911, Dwight landed an appointment at the United States Military Academy in West
Point, New York,
Life Before Presidency

Dwight landed an appointment at the United States Military Academy in West Point,
New York.
He was a star on the football field, until a series of knee injuries forced him to stop
playing.
After graduation, Eisenhower was stationed in Texas, where he met and started dating
18-year-old Mamie Geneva Doud from Denver, Colorado.
Eisenhower proudly graduated from West Point, and was commissioned as a second
lieutenant.
Military background
Throughout the war and afterward, Eisenhower continued to rise through the ranks.
On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Eisenhower commanded the Allied forces in the Normandy
invasion.
After Germany's surrender in 1945, he was made military governor of the U.S.
Occupied Zone.
Eisenhower then returned home to Abilene and received a hero's welcome.
He joined the war against his mother wishes.
Personality
He was described as a person who worked behind the scenes instead facing it head
on.
He was described to conservative with money but did protect social rights.
He was described as hardworking and patient man who did the best for everyone's.
He was also described as a nice guy.
