Unit Objective
World War ll was one of the largest world events in U.S. and world history. Knowing the
importance of this catastrophic event is critical. During this time period significant events
happened during this time that help carve the present day.
Lesson Objective

Note: Any assessments used should be aligned to the learning goals and
objectives. Also consider aligning goals and objectives to Blooms taxonomy.

1. Given a map, Student will locate two allied and two axis powers during
world war ll with 75% (Blooms taxonomy: comprehension)
2. Given a computer students will provide a picture or symbol representing that
country with 75% accuracy. (Blooms taxonomy: knowledge, comprehension,
analysis)
3. Given a computer and the necessary software, students will write facts about each
chosen country with 75% accuracy. (Blooms taxonomy: synthesis)

Student Participation

The Necessary accolade of this lesson is to understand the Involvement of some of


the countries involved in World War ll.

Technology Integration

Given the websites above students will find and research the necessary information
to complete the assignment. The necessary software will be given in order to put
the information onto the table.

Background and Rationale

Students will show signs of being knowledgeable of the


picked countries that participated in world war ll.
Academic Language is not addressed in IDT 3600.
This lesson is a continuation of TN social studies standard 4.0.
We will refer to the summary created here as we continue to explore the
Preamble. We will also use our outlines for a unit on creative writing.
I am aware that the lesson will be differentiated for students who did not master
the objectives and for those ready for enrichment. However, modifications are not covered in
this course and are not part of this particular lesson.

Procedures and Timeline

Introduction

Start with an explanation, and visual representation of the countries.


Give them information about the involvement of the countries.
Give them time to ask questions and discuss the information among their
peers
This may be hard to understands because other countries have language
barriers that may interfere with the students research, therefore a brief discussion
period shall be granted.
Students will use symbols and facts to make the countries easier to decipher
and understand.
