Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements
All college students who want to earn an education degree are required to take the Praxis

Core Academic Skills for Educators Exam. All exams must be completed before students will be

allowed to take courses in education at UNLV, NSC, and UNR. In order to pass these exams,

students will need to score passing grades in reading, writing, and math. The passing scores are;
Reading 156, Writing 162, and Math 150.
Exam Preparation
To prepare for the Praxis Exam I watched videos on the mometrix website recommended

by Professor Wyckoff. I also looked over the sample test questions and watched videos on the

Khan Academy website.

Exam Results
In Reading, I scored in the 57% range which means in order to pass my Praxis Core

Exam I will need to improve my score substantially. In Writing, I scored in the 78% range which

gives me at a borderline chance to pass my Praxis Core Exam. In Math, I scored in the 75%

range which also puts me borderline to pass my Exam.

Future Exam Preparation
This practice test was an eye opener for me. I need improvement in all areas of this test. I

have purchased a study guide to aid me in my efforts to prepare for this exam. In addition, I will

use the study video sites that I mentioned above and may work with a tutor.
