PE.5.1.1.e Combines locomotor skills in cultural and/or creative dance (e.g., self and group)
with correct rhythm and pattern
Objectives:
Students will get together into small groups and create a dance using at least 3 moves in a
rhythmic pattern.
Equipment:
Projector
Often times it can be difficult to purchase things like a game console
Youtube and a projector are a great way to still use Just Dance! In your classroom
The scores and performance isnt necessarily the point
If students see the movements and do their best to perform then they are benefiting!

Procedure:
Instant Activity
The Sid Shuffle
Anticipatory Set
What are your favorite dances/dance moves?
How does dancing make you feel?
Is it good exercise?
What else do you like to do for exercise?
How to set up the Wii and Play Just Dance!
Ensure that Wii is set up correctly
HDMI is connected to projector and/or TV
Wii and/or projector is connected to a power source
Controllers are turned on
Stand a few feet back while in front of the Wii
Choose Just Dance!
Pick Dance Mode and Song
Perform Dance moves as they come across the screen
Students will be placed in small groups depending on class size and set up the Wii
and the game
o Students will then practice by playing Just Dance!

Assessment
CREATE
Students will work in small groups to create their own dance routine
Dances should last one minute
Students should use at least 3 dance moves in their routine
Original dance moves, or dance moves from the game performed in a new order
The group must be able to to set up the song on the console in order to begin
This ensures that the students do know how to turn on and set up the game
The score on the game screen will not be considered since the students are creating their own
routine
