Review the concept of addition
Introduce activity: Cup Addition
Description: The students will work in pairs to complete their
own graphic organizer. Each pair of students gets a color
coded cup, counters, a dice, and a baggie filled with number
slips. Student blue will oversee the di. Student yellow
oversees picking the number slips. Students use the di and
the number slips to come up with an addition problem. The
students place their counters either in or on the outside of the
cup (depending on color on paper) to help come up with a
solution to the problem.
Cup Rules: I will go over how to use the cup and counters
