Washington, DC – His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and
Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), announced today a new strategic relationship
with Venable LLP, a leading Washington-based law and governmental advocacy firm.

The announcement of the new relationship comes in the wake of increased international
media attention to growing concerns regarding the role of current regime in transforming
RAK into a gateway for illicit trade with Iran, as well as troubling new links to Al Qaeda.

H.H. Sheikh Khalid has forced from office in 2003 in part because of his outspoken
opposition to Iran.

As an advocate for H.H. Sheikh Khalid, the Venable team will communicate to U.S.
policymakers his message of peace, prosperity, security and environmental sustainability
for the Gulf Region and improved relations between RAK and the United States.

Thomas H. Quinn, Partner at Venable, will lead the team with his broad experience in
federal legislative, financial and government affairs. Mr. Quinn began his career as
counsel to the Comptroller of the Currency in the U.S. Treasury Department.
