Francess’ grasp of complex medical concepts, procedures, and vocabulary has grown tremendously since she enrolled in the class in August 2016, resulting in her maintaining an “ average throughout her time in my college-level medical technologies class. She is very involved in the class, asking high-level cognitive questions and learning material above and beyond what is covered in the class. She is also a natural leader, as evidenced by her work in the classroom and as a member of her swimming and water polo teams, where she received the Academic Athlete Award, MVP, and Coach’s Award. She will further develop her leadership and interpersonal skills once she begins job shadowing with a pediatric nurse at Mercy Medical Center Merced this spring.
