In Syria, Trump went for 59 Tomahawk missiles. Now, in Afghani-
stan, he has opted for a super weapon, the second largest of
the US militarys non-nuclear bombs. This 21,600-pound explo-
sive, never before used in combat, was used to blast a bunch of
tunnels and caves in an Afghan province near the border of Paki-
stan.
Officially called a Massive Ordinance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), its
nickname the Mother Of All Bombs reeks of misogyny, as
no mother loves bombs.
The military is still assessing the results of the MOAB blast and
insists that it took every precaution to avoid civilian casualties.
But given this weapons colossal size and power (simulator calcu-
lations show the effects of the bomb reaching as far as a mile in
each direction), damage to the surrounding area is probably
enormous.
In an unconfirmed report, a parliamentarian from Nangarhar, Es-

Not to Redding apparently. According to Eureka Chief Andy Mills, someone in Redding
(the Redding Police Chief?) is trying to send people here under the guise that things are
so great in Humboldt for the homeless. Yes, says Chief Mills, in comfortable agreement
with Virginia Bass things couldnt be rosier for the poor and at risk in Humboldt.
The Chief must be reading Virginia Bass literature. You too may have read her I Heart
Eureka material which warns you about giving money to panhandlers. Dont do it, she
and Supervisor Rex Bohn suggest. The County offers a veritable Cornucopia of goodies
for the homeless and poor. Just ask Billionaire Arkley who a few years ago had a public
tantrum about the largess showered on the poor. It should go to law (for billionaires) en-
forcement, was his fatwa. Virginia and Rex Bohn immediately founded I Heart Eureka
and before you knew it, there was Measure Z as well to shower money on law (for bil-
lionaires) enforcement. That paid off, for not long ago law (for billionaires) enforcement
evicted 45 people who had been squatting on his land in the Manila area. Houses had
been built there in a well organized camp known as Dog Park. Tough dogshit for them.
I guess that the 45 are part of the 219 who didnt follow Virginias plan and flee Humboldt
like Lot and his family. Too bad Lot didnt know about the TAP program! Virginia says
that TAP sent 300 neer-do-wells back to where they came from. Of course we dont
know how many TAPsters were bused into Humboldt. Like those sent our way by the
Redding prankster who bedevils Chief Mills. That certainly TAPPED him out.
But dare we quibble over a few digits? Lets take an unprejudiced look at the remaining
1,100. Virginia declares that a neat 800 were housed through different initiatives in vari-
ous parts of the county. Can we count the 36 Palco Marsh graduates housed for 90
days in Betty Chinns Containment Camp?

Ganges, Glaciers & Forests: Living Entities

In what looks like a fairly new trend of governments across the world, nowHimalayan glaciers and forests have been declared as 'living entities'.
It all began pretty recently when a river in New Zealand was formally declared as a person, owing to a 160-year-old campaign. The Whanganui River, which
flows 145 kilometres from the central North Island to the sea, was given legal personhood by the country's parliament.
Just four days after that,Uttarakhand High Court declared river Ganga as the 'first living entity of India'.
And now,the same status has been accorded to glaciers, forests and lakes of Himalayas. The Uttarakhand High Court has passed this exemplary judgement
in an endeavour to prevent environmental destruction in this area.
Quite gracefully, the status has been given toGangotri and Yamunotri, the starting points of the holiest rivers of the country. These glaciers are also a part of
the most revered Char Dham Yatra.
If the judgement is not making any sense to you, maybe the results will, as from now on, both the rivers have the legal right to protect themselves if someone
pollutes them. Any attempts to defile and contaminate can land that person/institute a place in the jail.
As per the judgement, the right of the entities is equal to the rights of an individual and any harm caused to them will be considered as harm to an individual.
The decision comes after the alarming changes in the entities.Gangotri alone has retreated more than 2,800 feet in the last 25 years. The status, therefore, has
been extended tomeadows, waterfalls, forests and lakes, in order to protect them.
