The Untouchables Review by Benita Murinda.

In our French class we were introduced to the highly

acclaimed film " Les Intouchables"
I first thought the film was going to be incredibly cheesy and
the ultimate tearjerker.
It was the ultimate tearjerker but not incredibly cheesy.
It told the tale of two unlikely companions who became
friends.
The story is told as a flashback which I think really adds to
the emotion and makes it nostalgic which usually melts the
audience's hearts.
Driss comes from an immigrant background and is a petty
criminal who is trying to hustle his way around the place
barely surviving with the many gangs he is affiliated with.
He bumps into Phillipe in the most unimaginable way one
you could not imagine.
Driss finds himself becoming Phillipe's caregiver which for
me is just crazy and it is something you would never guess in
a millions years and though untrained in the job he does a
very good job of it and becomes more than a caregiver he
becomes friend if not a brother.

Like every great movie there is always more than meets the eye Driss
discovers that Phillipe has been talking to a women online but is
hesitant to meet her because of his disability and with drisses
encouragement he eventually has lunch with the women and all goes
well for him.
Driss and Phillipe go their separate ways neither of them succeed at it
but they eventually their paths cross ways again and they meet again.
The film concludes with opening scene again and we get to meet the
people the film was inspired by.
Les untouchables succeeds on meeting the themes of friendship,
circumstance and misfortune.
I cried when watching the film because there is just something so honest
about the relationship portrayed in the film.
The materials things stopped mattering and we witnessed a tender that
all humans posses which was empowering and I hope it inspired others
the way it inspired me.
