The BS Marine engineering curriculum consists of three years of theoretical study followed by one year of cadetship training. The theoretical portion covers subjects like physics, math, chemistry, engineering, and naval training. After completing the theoretical part, students undergo one year of shipboard training as an engine cadet. Upon finishing cadetship training, students receive their diploma and special order from CHED and their school. They then take a review course and board exam administered by MARINA to receive their Certificate of Competency, which requires passing both a written and practical assessment.
