Instructional Technology/STEM Teacher

Assure high quality, on-going STEM and Instructional Technology professional


development to teachers, administration, support staff, and students.

Coach:
o Provides professional development including modeling lessons,
providing instructional feedback, and assisting with lesson design and
learning experience development specific to the innovative infusion of
technology and STEM into the curriculum
o Provide on-going review and feedback on the individual/team/school
use of instructional technology and STEM
o Assess the integration of technology and STEM; give feedback of the
success and struggles and use that feedback to drive further PD
Collaborator:
o Facilitating lighthouse teachers use of 21st century technology by
modeling, co teaching, videotaping, and providing feedback and
planning
o Collaborates with administration and teachers to determine needs
and manages scheduling for professional development; provides staff
with resources, strategies and support that meet those needs
o Serves as an active member/co-facilitator of the technology and STEM
committees
o Assists Principal in making decisions for technology purchases and
decisions regarding technology instruction or related programs
o Identifies (and assists in the use of) appropriate software applications
for grade and content level instruction
o Works with team leaders (or grade level teams) to assist in the
planning and implementation of monthly STEM activities that fit into
the learning experiences they are teaching
o Participates as a facilitator in the CFIP process, focusing on 2+3
planning, assessment development, and the planning of learning
experiences with a specific focus on instructional technology (How
could the common assessment or learning experience be enhanced by
the purposeful use of technology or the inclusion of STEM? How can
some of the common assessments help prepare students for the
technology skills they will need to be successful on PARCC?)
o During the CFIP planning process, helps teachers identify resources
such as video clips, on-line text to embed into instruction. Models
ways to use things such as; virtual field trips, live chats, google
hangouts to enhance instruction and help build background
knowledge for students
o Assist in building instructional practices that empower students to
take ownership of their own learning through the use of 21st.
Consultant:
o Build an easy to use portal for teachers to watch Bester created videos
on how to effectively set up, implement, and troubleshoot new
technology
o Build an easy to use portal for students to upload videos explaining
specific standards they have mastered (goal is to have each standard
represented by the end of 3 years)
o Serves as a resource for staff in the areas of effective and purposeful
educational practices and planning which might include:
Cooperative/Collaborative Learning, Product/Project Based
Instruction, Reading and Mathematics Computer Literacy to prepare
students and staff for PARCC, STEM integration
o
Other Responsibilities:
o Develop ways to check out instructional technology materials
o Host student led technology night where students are presenting how
they used instructional technology in their classroom to parents
o Host a student led talent show where they present something they
have created where they used instructional technology; judges;
prizes; big deal
o Attends meetings, workshops and personal training sessions
associated with this position to grow professionally and gain
information to share with staff
o Work at least monthly with the lighthouse teachers to continue to
move them forward with their study and use of various individualized
technology resources such as subtext, goggle, educreations
o Identify and manage non-negotiables for the use of technology
o Other duties as assigned

Job Embedded Professional Development Framework:


o Implementation of new instructional practices
Full Support of Implementation:
Step 1: Modeling of new instructional technology with
students.
Step 2: Co-teach new instructional technology with
students (Classroom teacher takes the lead; Support
available)
Step 3: Full release of instruction to classroom teacher;
feedback given following lesson
Step 4: 2 week follow up~ Classroom teacher will
implement the instructional technology on their own in
a different lesson with the 2 week time frame; reflection
will occur following implementation. Additional
support will be addressed and determine next steps on
how to integrate this practice for continued use
Partial Support of Implementation: Depending on individual
teacher and student needs, collaboration will occur to
determine which steps listed above are needed for support.
Peer coaching: Teachers that have implemented strategies
independently, can collaborate and gain feedback for continual
improvement in implementation.
Participates as a facilitator in the CFIP process, focusing on 2+3 planning,
assessment development, and the planning of learning experiences with a
specific focus on instructional technology (How could the common
assessment or learning experience be enhanced by the purposeful use of
technology or the inclusion of STEM? How can some of the common
assessments help prepare students for the technology skills they will need to
