World Geography
In this class, we are learning about the Caribbean
and South American ethnic groups, Latin American
cultural and environmental issues, Southeastern
Asia/Latin America, Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
When learning about South America, we are
learning about the different cultures. When
learning about Latin America, we are learning
about how human and physical systems influence
Latin America and we are learning about the
environmental and cultural issues that they have in
Latin America.
When we talk about Africa, we are learning about
how human and physical systems influence
conflict in Rwanda and we are learning about how
segregation in the United States is similar to
Apartheid in South Africa. While we talk about
Asia, we are going to learn about their customs,
values, and traditions; how their culture is sticking
to their ancient traditions and values; how the
human and physical systems influence Asia; the
major cities and how topography and climate
affect the growth of these cities; and the different
physical features and climates that are here. When
we talk about India, we are learning about how
Gandhis life and actions influenced the world and
India in the past and present.

US HISTORY
The different topics we are learning about in this
class include the Great Depression; the 1920s;
isolation vs. globalization; suffrage and
temperance; WWI; Chinese Exclusion Act and
American expansion; the Progressive Era; reform;
immigration and industry; railroads and
westward expansion; impeachment; changing
the lives of former slaves; and an intro to
reconstruction.
We are learning about how the social and
political impact of widespread unemployment
resulted in Hoovervilles. We are also learning
about how the different forms of cultural
expression changed in the 1920s. We will learn
about how the growth of communism lead to the
Red Scare; how the American culture changed
after WWII; how the Progressive Era brought
changes to urban life and industry; how did the
US get involved in WWI and how it affected the
nation; how the Progressive Era brought new
political reforms that changed the citizens role in
government; and how the attitude of American
expansionism lead to attitudes of racism and
imperialism.
We will also learn about how the growth of
industry in the Progressive Era lead to major
reform movements; how immigration in the early
1900s influenced urban areas and industry to
increase the need for reforms; how the
development West needed a product of
transcontinental railroad; and how Andrew
Johnsons impeachment correlated with
reconstruction. We will also learn about how life
changed for the freed slaves during
reconstruction; how the Civil War and
reconstruction lead to changes for African
Americans and changes in American culture; and
how Lincolns plan for reconstruction differ from
other Republicans. We will also learn about how
the North and South differ during and after the
Civil War.
Economics ILT
In this class we will learn about the fiscal policy
lowdown; monetary policy lowdown;
macroeconomics; Federal Reserve; and
microeconomics.
We are going to learn about how the government
uses its tools to promote price stability, full

We are going to learn about how the political
parties shape the United States. We will also learn
how the presidents complete roles are assigned
to him/her. We are also going to learn why it is
important to have good foreign policies. We are
going to learn how individuals or groups more
important to the legislative process.
