What are irregular verbs?

Objectives:

Students will be able to:

Use the correct present tense form of the verb to-be in complete
sentences by scoring 80% or higher on the exit ticket..

Classroom Activities:

Activity #1: Do Now

Students will use previous weeks graphic organizer to complete sentences that require
them to conjugate regular verbs.

Activity #2: Whole Group

Instructor will go over answers to the Do-Now and lead discussion over irregular verbs.
Students will be given sentences in which the correct forms of the verb to-be are blank.
As a class, instructor will lead students through conjugating the verb to-be in present
tense.. Students will fill out graphic organizer for the verb to be.

Students will work in small groups to to create a poster about a topic the group decides
on. Students will use images and words from magazines to create five sentences, each
using a present tense form of the verb to-be.

Activity #3: Software Rotation

Students will achieve 20 minutes of R180 software time.

Activity #4: Independent Reading

Students will read from their selected text and write one journal reflection entry.

Activity #5: Small Group

Groups will read short articles/stores that require them to fill in correct forms of the
verb to be. Instructor will read through stories/articles with students and lead
discussion.

Activity 6: Exit Ticket

Students will write/complete sentences that require them to use the correct form of the
verb to-be.
