Artifact 2

One of my goals for the next school year is to be more intentional about the way that I

monitor student progress toward their ILP goals. I have always been bothered by the lack of

urgency on behalf of my district to support progress monitoring of LM students. Because ESSA

will make progress monitoring a legal requirement, I am working with administration to develop

progress monitoring strategies.

The attached artifacts are my suggested progress monitoring documents. I have been

working with my principal to redefine my position next year to include more time providing push-

in and pull-out services with LM students as well as progress monitoring. If I can get that time, I

will send the Google Form to teachers so that they can provide feedback on student progress in

their classes. I will then use artifact 2.b to guide conversations with students about their

strengths and needs in classes. In the event that I am not provided this time, my students

coaches will fill have these conversations and fill out the document. I will then revisit, and verify

student response at progress monitoring/ILP meetings.

The importance of collaborating with my peers to promote student success, has driven

me to call this meeting with district administration to hopefully redefine the LM Coordinator

position in all schools within the district.
