Emit: to send out from a source

Reflect: to bounce back off of an object that it can not move through

Refract: to bend when traveling through two different substances

Scatter: to change the energy or the direction of travel

Absorption: the transfer of light energy to particles of matter

Pitch: the measure of how high or low a sound is depending on the


frequency

Loudness: the extent to which a sound can be heard

Electromagnetic Waves: waves that are able to travel through empty


space

Mechanical Waves: waves that need a medium (solid, liquid, or gas) to


travel
