HOW DO I SUBMIT AN ELIGIBILITY APPLICATION?

Submitting an Eligibility Application comprises two steps:

Step 1 Complete an online Eligibility Application form

Step 2 Send supporting documentation to the UKFPOs Eligibility Office

You must complete both steps between 11 July and 10 August 2016. If you do not complete BOTH steps your Eligibility
Application will be incomplete and you will be deemed ineligible to apply for FP 2017.

STEP 1 Complete an online Eligibility Application form

You must complete this step first

All applicants who wish to submit an Eligibility Application must first complete an online Eligibility Application form on
Oriel. You will be able to access Oriel from the UKFPO homepage
(http://www.foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/pages/home) from 11 July 2016.

The form asks for your personal details and information about your activities since you completed your medical degree,
e.g. your clinical experience and employment history.

On submission of your online eligibility form you will receive an email informing you of your Oriel Pin number and a link
to the checklist. You must record your name and Oriel Pin number on this checklist, tick the relevant boxes and include it
in the documentation you send to the UKFPOs Eligibility Office see Step 2.

It is important that all eligibility applicants read the Guidance Notes for Eligibility Applicants
(http://www.foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/pages/home/how-to-apply/FP2017-Eligibility-Information) which provides
further information on points 1-9 above.

Each year many eligibility applicants are deemed not eligible due to small errors and omissions. Reading the guidance
will ensure that you understand fully what information you need to provide.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING RIGHT TO WORK:

Based on trends over the last few years, we expect there will be more fully eligible applicants than there are vacancies
for the UK Foundation Programme commencing in August 2017 (FP 2017).

Applicants who are not able to provide evidence of their right to work in the UK by 12 January 2017 will be withdrawn
from the process if there are more fully eligible applicants than vacancies.

If you are a graduate from a medical school outside the UK and you cannot provide evidence of your right to work in the
UK by 12 January 2017, you may still submit your eligibility documentation for consideration. If you are deemed eligible
to apply for FP 2017, you may go on to submit an FP 2017 application when the application period opens on 3 October
2016. However, you should bear in mind that you will be required to sit a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) in the UK on
2 December 2016 or 9 January 2017 and it is very likely your application will not be considered because there will be too
many applicants who do have the right to work.
