Republican Health Bill: The House passed,


Y Y N N N 217-213, a GOP bill to undo the Affordable
Care Act on terms that would allow states to
waive most ACA coverage rules while adding
24 million uninsured persons and cutting
$600 billion in taxes on high-earners and
health-related firms over 10 years. (HR 1628)
`Comp Time For Overtime Work: The
Y Y N N N House voted, 229-197, to give employees in
the private sector the option to choose time-
and-a-half compensatory time off in place of
extra wages in the next paycheck for hours
worked over 40 per week. A yes votes was to
send the bill (HR 1180) to the Senate.
Seven Days Paid Sick Leave: The House
N N Y Y Y defeated, 192-234, a motion by Democrats to
require that employees who choose comp
time in place of overtime wages
automatically receive at least seven days
annual sick leave with pay. A yes vote was to
add mandatory paid sick leave to HR 1180
(above).
Privacy on the Internet: The House blocked,
Y Y N N N 233-190, a bid by Democrats to force floor
debate on a bill now in committee that would
restore an Internet privacy rule recently
nullified by Congress and President Trump. A
yes vote opposed floor consideration of a bill
(HR 1868) concerning the disclosure of
personal dataSpending
$1.1 Trillion to advertisers.
Bill: The House
Y Y Y Y Y passed, 309-118, a bill (HR 244) that would
fund government operations from May 5
through Sept. 30 at an annualized level of
$1.07 trillion in discretionary spending. A yes
vote was to send the Senate a bipartisan
appropriations bill for the remainder of fiscal
2017.
Retirement Savings at Work: The Senate
N N voted, 50-49, to nullify a Department of Labor
rule to help states set up privately run
retirement plans for private-sector workers
who lack access to such plans at work
because their employers have not
