Low - foaming detergent for use in textile processing.

 Kieralon® JET

Nature Emulsion of low-foaming, nonionic components.

Physical form Opaque, viscous liquid.

Storage When stored correctly, in sealed containers, Kieralon JET has a shelf life of
12 months.

Properties:
Solubility Kieralon JET is pasted with one/two times its own volume of cold water,
then diluted further with stirring before it is added to the process liquid.

pH Approx 8-10 5% solu

Density Approx. 1 gm/cm3 at 20 oC .

Pour point Approx. 3 C

Stability Stable in alkaline liquors up to a concentration of 20ml NaOH 38 B é .

Action Kieralon JET, a detergent with adequate wetting properties, permits

almost foam free and thus trouble-free scouring, even under the extremely
turbulent conditions in partially flooded jet dyeing machine.
Kieralon JET developes its best action in neutral to alkaline liquors.

Application
Kieralon JET can be successfully employed in all washing processes
where there is strong liquor turbulence, e.g.
− Prescouring, boiling off and bleaching in long liquors.

− Washing in the dyebath.

− Soaping off after dyeing.

The product can also be used as a foam suppressant in liquors that
contain surfactants.

Fields of application 1. Boiling off cotton knitgoods in jet dyeing machines.

1-3 g/I Kieralon Jet

1 g/I NaOH 100% or
1-2 g/I soda ash
1 g/I Lusynton FF-KW
Liquor ratio 7:1 - 10:1

30-60 min at 80-100 C
Rinse in soft water with overflow.

Boiling off and dyeing in one bath cannot be recommended, since this
results in excessive contamination of dye liquors.

2. Bleaching of cotton knitgoods in jet dyeing machines

1-2 g/I Kieralon Jet
4-6 ml/I Hydrogen Peroxide 35%
1 g/I NaOH 100%

1 g/I Prestogen FF-D
Liquor ratio 7:1 - 10:1

30-60 min at 80 - 100 C

In order to remove water-hardening substances,
1-2 g/I Lufibrol FF-90 S
is added at the end of the bleaching period, and the goods treated for a
further 10 min.
3. Washing polyester and polyamide knitgoods in jet dyeing
machine
1-3 g/I Kieralon Jet
0.5 - 2 g/I soda ash
(according to the degree of soiling)
Liquor ratio 7:1 - 10:1

20-30 min at 60-95 C
4. Washing polyester/cotton knitgoods in jet dyeing machines
1-3 g/I Kieralon Jet
0.5-2 g/I Soda ash
1-2 g/I Lufibrol FF-90 S
Liquor ratio 7:1-10:1

20-30 min at 80-95 C
5. Washing polyester/wool knitgoods in jet dyeing machines
1-3 g/I Kieralon Jet
pH 8-9 (ammonia or soda ash)
20-30 min at 40-50 oC
6. Washing in the dyebath
Provided that only small amounts of spin finishes are present, Kieralon JET
can be used direct in the dyebath with synthetic fibres and their blends
with cellulosic fibres. It is then necessary to pay attention to the retarding
effect on vat dyes and to the electrolyte content of the dye liquor with
reactive dyes.

Safety
We know of no ill effects that could have resulted from using Kieralon JET
for the purpose for which it is intended and from processing it in
accordance with current practice.
According to the experience that we have gained over many years and
other information at our disposal, Kieralon JET does not exert any harmful
effects on health, provided that it is used properly, due attention is given to
the precautions necessary for handling chemicals, and the information
and advice given in our Safety Data Sheet are observed.
