Stabbing Investigation
Springfield, Illinois On May 8, at approximately 7:47 p.m., Springfield Police were sent to
Memorial Hospital for a female that called 911 stating her boyfriend had been stabbed in the
neck. Upon arriving, officers spoke with the female, Morgan Needham, who stated that her
boyfriend, age 21, was stabbed in the neck by an unknown black male outside of their
residence in the 1200 block of South Spring Street.

As the investigation continued, Springfield Police Detectives were able to determine that
Morgan L. Needham, age 23, was responsible for stabbing her boyfriend. She was transported
to the Sangamon County Jail and charged with aggravated domestic battery and unlawful use
of a weapon. Report #S17-40273.
