COURSE PLAN
Course Title STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS
Course Code KNS2133
Course Credit 3
Course Status Core
Prerequisite KNS 2093 THEORY OF STRUCTURES
Synopsis The course will cover the different elastic analysis methods for statically indeterminate
structures. These includes analysis of trusses, beams and frames using Force Method,
Slope Deflection Equations, Moment Distribution Method, and Stiffness Method.
Fundamental of plastic theory of structures and structural analysis using computer
software are also emphasized.
Course Outcomes By the end of this course, students should be able to;
(CO)
CO1 Apply force method to analyse statically indeterminate structures. (C3)
CO2 Apply displacement method to analyse statically indeterminate structures.
(P1)
CO3 Apply stiffness method to analyse statically indeterminate structures. (CT2)
CO4 Relate fundamental concept of Plastic Theory of Structures in simple
structures (A1)
