Abstract Density, is the mass of unit volume of a substance, an absolute value independent of the gravitating force.

Specific gravity, on the other hand, is the measure of the density relative to the density of another reference substance. In
the experiment, the students determine the densities and specific gravities of a liquid and a solid through different
methods with different devices or apparatuses.
