Introduction of the day

Short overview of the science unit Yr. 5/6 have been working on and
the science challenge of the day to build
10.15am 10.30am Group Meeting for students to plan, strategies and design
tower. Choose materials.

Students will collaboratively decide a plan for their tower and choose
materials
10.30am 11.00am Design and Create Your Towers

Students will work in groups to complete the building of their

towers. Parents to stay in Visitor viewing area to watch on
without input.
11.00am 11.15am Design and Create Your Towers

Students will work in groups to complete the building of their towers.

Parents to stay in Visitor viewing area to watch on without input.

11.15am 11.40pm Present findings of design to audience

Students will have 2 minutes per group to give a small presentation to

discuss how successful their design is or is not.
11.40am 12-00 noon Share

Students will now have a chance to walk around the area and look at
all other students designs.
12.00 noon 12.20pm Free time for students to share experience with friends and
family

Lunch for everyone who has attended the science extravaganza
