Science: Cells

Cells are the building blocks of life. They make up all living
organisms and are the site of all chemical reactions. There are
different types of cells in animals than in plants.

In plants they have cell walls to protect and hold the cell up as
it is made of cellulose. In animals and plants there is a cell
membrane to control what goes in and out of the cell. The
nucleus contains DNA and genes; the cytoplasm is where
chemical reactions actually take place and the mitochondria are
where respiration occurs. The chloroplast is for photosynthesis
and the vacuole is a large sap.

Cells can make up tissues. Tissues make up Organs. Organs

make up organ systems. Organ systems make up organisms.

For example:

Muscle cells Muscle tissue Muscles Muscular system
