Recommendation Report on Acquiring Copier Machine for College of

Accountancy and Finance of the Polytechnic University of the

Philippines

Education is one of the most important tool that will lead us to our
success. It does not need to be expensive but rather it needs people that are
resourceful and hard-working. Being resourceful is one of the characteristics
of PUP students. Students find their ways to learn in convenient and
inexpensive way. For example, they make sure that they have a copy or
photocopy of reviewers, lessons or syllabus of their subjects. Teachers also
mold and help the students to acquire knowledge by giving them quizzes and
other paper works. However, convenient way of learning and full-time
education cannot be met if equipment like copier machine is only located at
one place.
This recommendation report addressed to the president of the
university thru the college dean on having a copier machine in College of
Accountancy and Finance. Having a copier machine will ease the students
and other faculty members from being exhausted of going back and forth in
order to have copies of their papers. Students now can fully focus on their
lessons and other faculty members can able to give them quizzes and paper
works without worrying about the time that they can consume on going
downstairs. Hence, certain conditions on the environment of the college
must be met to see best results from learning. On the other hand, the
following specifications should be considered in buying copier machine:

Cost
Print Speed
Image Quality
Paper Capacity

The price of the three study tables that were assessed ranges from
P30,000 to P100,000.All can be used for business purposes. All machines can
easily operate. Copier machines have an average life of 7 to 10 years.
Comparisons
Different copier machines of varying specifications were advertised on
online shops and other shops in the mall. All copier machines tested, Xerox,
Ricoh and Canon can easily operate.
Cost. The copier machine of Xerox has a cash price of P64,000. Under
the brand of Ricoh, the copier machine has a cash price of P30,000 and
lastly, under the brand of Canon, it has a cash price of P100,000. Overall,
copier machine under the brand of Ricoh offers the most inexpensive
machine.
Print Speed. The copier machine of Xerox and Canon has a print
speed of 55ppm (pages per minute) while the copier machine of Ricoh has a
print speed of 23 ppm. As we can see, Ricoh copier machine takes more time
to print the copy.
Image Quality. All the copier machines provides maximum copy
resolution of 600 x 600 dpi (dots per ink). Generally, the higher the DPI, the
better the tonality of the image, colours should look better and blends
between colours should be smoother. Overall, we can say that they provide a
good image quality.
Paper Capacity. The copier machine of Xerox has a maximum paper
capacity of 4,700 sheets. Under the brand of Canon, it has a maximum paper
capacity of 7,700 sheets. And lastly, Ricoh copier machine has a maximum
paper capacity of 1,625 sheets. We can conclude that Canon has the
greatest paper capacity among the three.
Summary

The following is the summary of the comparison of copier machines

manufactured by Xerox, Canon, and Ricoh:

1. All copier machines can be used for business purposes.

2. Ricoh copier machine offers the most inexpensive price among the
three with a cash price of P30,000.
3. Canon and Xerox copier machines provides the same print speed while
the Ricoh copier machine has the slowest print speed among the three
brands.
4. All of them provides a good image quality with a resolution of 600 x
600 dpi.
5. Canon copier machine provides the greatest paper capacity among the
three.

Recommendations
 Based on the testing results previously discussed and from the
averages extracted from Table 1, I recommend the following:

Acquire a copier machine manufactured by Xerox which meets all

the quality of a good copier machine such as having high
resolution, fast printing speed and can easily operate that is
offered in a reasonable price.
