Over the four years I have known Eric, I have seen significant growth in his academics and accountability. Eric has shown increasing interest in the sciences and intends to study herpetology in order to secure a position with an elite venom response program in Florida. He challenged himself in taking my upper division Environmental Botany course his senior year to expand his knowledge base in biology, which will help build a strong foundation for his undergraduate studies. In this course, Eric has shown dedication by seeking help frequently and coming to office hours to ensure his projects are on track. Specifically, he has put great effort into designing a landscape to meet the needs of a residential client, demonstrating his knowledge of aesthetic plant choice and low-maintenance hardscaping materials. In addition to his academic development, I have witnessed Eric’s development into a more resilient young adult.
