Tri Delta serves for St.

Jude

COLLEGE PARK, Md.- The sisters of University of

Marylands Delta Delta Delta sorority hosted the
philanthropy event DHOP on Saturday at their home
on College Avenue. They supplied a variety of
students with endless pancakes to help support St Jude
Childrens Research Hospital.

The members of Tri Delta executed an America theme

for their decorations and T-shirts. A banner was
displayed at the front of their house to draw in anyone
from outside.

I loved the theme. I thought that everyone who

helped decorate was really creative and did a great
job, said Alayna Greenbaum, a member of Tri Delta.

People were attending the event for more than just the
decorations and music. The main component of Two members posing in front
DHOP is the supply of pancakes with a variety of of the banner. (Grace Hayes)
toppings. The sisters make the pancakes themselves
throughout the day and serve them to attendees.

Maddie Duffy, a new member of Tri Delta, loved being a part of

the process.

We were all just dancing around and cooking in

the kitchen. It was definitely hard but so worth it,
said Duffy. We even got to eat them as we went.

Everyone was there to support the girls goal of

raising money for St. Jude. Individuals were
charged $5 admission and additional donations were
encouraged. All collections will go to the hospital.

Maddy Scarff, the philanthropy chair, was

walking around the event making sure everything
was operating efficiently.

I am so proud of our chapter for how this event went. So many people came or donated
and the pancakes were great, said Scarff.

Last year the sorority raised $9,000 dollars at their DHOP event. They are hoping to have
raised more this year from their turnout.
