Around the same time the Barbican
complex was under development,
across the globe in America, a cultural
anthropologist named Edward T
Hall first initiated the concept of
proxemics. He famously described the
interpersonal distances of man in four
zones and determined the radius of
each zone. This provided foundations
for evaluating not only the social
interactions between people, but also
the organisation of space in public
environments.

This book examines Halls proxemics

theory through observing people
gathered at the Barbican Centre.
The lined drawings are to indicate
the field of communication intensity
that happens between individuals
in an existing social setting.

More than five years of theatre

experience has sparked my interest
in researching performance artists Product Mockup, 2017
and their creative methods. It is Central Saint Martins Graphic Design Portfolio
particularly challenging to capture the
essence of a live performance onto a
static book cover.

The Performer and Participant

Series explore the usage of QR codes
to engage readers in ways never
imagined. This is to mirror the artists
that readily encouraged audience
involvement into the completion of
their works.

All artists featured are chosen from

the Tate collection.

Anti-Labels

This project started during my time in

Japan, where stereotyping is prevalent
but not actively discussed. Going
against the idea that we apply labels
to people during social encounters,
I created these anti-labels, which Product Mockup, 2017
readily challenged stereotypes. Self-Initiated Project

The web page here has the potential

to initiate a social campaign. The
audience might choose to create
their bespoke anti-labels, which will
then be crafted and mailed out. The
web page would also encourage the
participants to share their labels onto
social media platforms.

These anti-labels are fit for diverse

surfaces. They can be worn as fashion
accessories, used as laptop stickers, or
applied as interior dcor.

Typeface Design

The GOLDEN RATIO is an all

caps geometric typeface developed
observing the mathematical theory by
the same name. A grid is structured
upon three equilateral triangles
stacking together, with sides all in
golden proportions with one another.
The letters are then constructed
through assembling sections of each
side.

This typeface is designed for logo

usage in both print and digital
formats.

Experimental Theatre

Between the Lines is a contemporary

theatre production that I directed for
in the final year of my undergraduate
studies. I utilized minimalistic visual
style, varied lighting techniques and
intricate sound design in creating
synergy on stage.
Excerpt from Between the Lines, 2012
The play was shown in front of more McDaniel College
than two hundred audience members,
and I was eventually awarded
Certificate of Merit for Directing
by The Kennedy Center American
College Theater Festival.
