SOME FACTS
CONTRADICTIONS
In the Indian Constitution
Article 21(A) states that all children must receive
education.
Article 24 states that no child must be employed in
hazardous industries.

Does it mean they can work in non-hazardous


conditions?

Is a child expected to work & study at same time?

WHAT HAPPENS TO HER / HIS CHILDHOOD??


RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
Govt. Notification of October 10th
states that no child under the age of
14 must be employed in the domestic
& hospitality sector.
CRY welcomes this notification as a
positive step
BUT
What about rehabilitation of the child
labourers??
What about loopholes in the law against child
labour??
What about the root causes of child labour??
What about the quality of education &
nutrition being provided??
What about proper implementation of the
child labour act??

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE ??
What Can we do??
The main aim is to create awareness and to ensure
peoples participation as far as possible in the campaign
against child labour. This can be done in a variety of
methods.

You can join the cause and work against child labour
You can motivate others to join and work

If you have a skill for writing


You can write letters to the government officials,
editors of newspapers and articles to publicise the issue
If you are creative
You can design posters & handouts for the
cause
You can form a theatre group or join the CRY
group and perform relevant plays.
You can form a band and educate people
through your songs
Make paintings to bring out the cause

If you are good at event management


You can organise talks, debates, quizzes and
discussions on the issue and educate people.

Set up a Table in prominent places with
relevant material
Set up Displays in schools, colleges with a
variety of posters, articles and material
Organise Events such as talks, discussions or
debates
Volunteer and put in your efforts
