APPENDIX 2.

3A

EXPERIMENT 1- series and parallel circuit

Aim: To analyse and compare the characteristics of series and parallel circuit.
List of Apparatus: 8 dry cells , 8 connecting wires, 6 light bulbs (6V,6W)
2 voltmeters, 2 ammeters, 4 switches

Procedure:
1. Students divide into two groups to build up two electrical circuit ( a series and parallel
circuit) as in diagram 1a and 1b.

2. Switch ON both circuit simultaneously. Compare the brightness of the bulbs in both
circuit.
3. Using both ammeters and volt meters, get the readings for the current and voltage as
in diagram 2
