Topic: Body parts

Objectives

Students will be able to identify the parts of the human body.

Students will practice spelling words associated with the body

Procedures

1. Generate a list of body parts with Ss.

2. Put the list on the board and say each word aloud. Ask Ss to point to the correct body
parts as you name it.

3. Review the Body Parts Vocabulary. Write the words on the blackboard:

o Hair

o Forehead

o Eyes

o Nose

o Ears

o Cheeks

o Mouth

o Teeth

o Chin

o Shoulders

o Arms
o Hands

o Fingers

o Chest

o Stomach

o Hips

o Legs

o Feet

o Toes

4. Divide the class up into partners.

5. Give each S a sheet of paper that is large enough to accomodate their height.

6. Have each S lie down on top of the paper and have her partner trace the outline of her
body.

7. Ask Ss to draw the features of the face and other body parts (such as fingers, toes, etc.)

8. Optional: help Ss glue on yarn for hair and make clothes out of construction paper.

9. Instruct Ss to label each body part.

10. Remind them to check their spelling by referring to the Body Parts Vocabulary you wrote
on the board.

11. Display the finished bodies around the classroom with the students' names underneath
them.
