PE. Reflection
After reading the physical education frameworks, I realized that there is a lot of

knowledge content I need to know as a teacher. The knowledge content that I need to know is the

development of locomotor skills and nonlocomotor skills. Inform students how important

physical fitness is in ones life. Teach students the knowledge of movement concepts, principles

and strategies that will help them understand physical movements and their health. Teach

students about the development of their muscle growth and how to execute physical movements

correctly. The connection towards the VPA and PE frameworks to the courses I have taken in

college are Kin 425, Art 301, and Dance 440. These courses are relatable and have a connection

to the frameworks discussed.

The artifact that I will be using to highlight my understanding of the frameworks is going

to a PE lesson plan that was created in my Kin 425 course. In my 425 course, we were taught

about basic loco motor movements that elementary school children need to perform if they were

to participate in any physical activity. In that class, one of the assignments was to create our own

lesson plan to teach to an elementary class. In that lesson plan, I needed to create an objective

and describe the different types of physical movements or activities that the children will

perform. I also had to state what type of teaching style I was going to use like practice or direct

teaching.
The reason why I chose this artifact was because it illustrates my understanding of

teaching physical education in elementary. It shows that I can demonstrate physical activities and

the movements. This artifact depicts my knowledge and teaching skills once I was able to

execute my lesson to the class.
